WIDG – Live Weebly Widget Generator and Builder

A few months ago, we posted a blog about some new stuff we’re working on. One of which was a “secret”.

Well that Secret you’ve all been waiting for is finally here, and it’s going to make your life 100% easier when it comes to building your Weebly website with Webfire Themes templates.

We suggest you take a seat before watching the video, this is going to blow your mind.

We created the demo using our latest template Holeon.

Say goodbye to CODE and say hello to the WIDG.

As you will see from the video, the WIDG is going to be your one stop shop when it comes to implementing custom widgets on your Weebly website, the WIDG lets you:

  • Change all color elements via the interactive color picker
  • Select widget icons via the icon picker
  • See live preview as you update the widget settings
  • Set Background Preview color so you can see what the widget will look like on different background.
  • Generate Widget code and copy straight into Weebly

We’ve had lots of feedback from our customers telling us that although the template itself is easy to use, the bit that some people find tricky is implementing the Custom HTML Widgets that come with the template. This is because you need to copy the default HTML code, drag it into your Weebly website with the “Embed Code” element, then edit the html to display the content you want.

Well, moving forward you won’t need to do that anymore. We’ve spent many sleepless nights getting a new feature ready and we’ve called it WIDG!!!

WIDG is a Fully Interactive Live Weebly Widget Generator and Builder that is setup specifically for the widgets that come with our templates. It allows you to build and customize your widgets, whilst getting a live preview of what the widget will look like, then when you’re ready you can hit the “generate code” button and it gives you the HTML code you need to paste into the “embed code” element.

The best thing about WIDG is, when you are building your widget you can customize it to be exactly as you wish. With an icon picker and color pickers for things like backgrounds, text and hover colors, you can how heavily customize your widgets.

This also means, you can have the same widget using different colors, as well as only having to change the color scheme for the main colors on your template if you want to customize… So, as you can see, it really does make using our templates a lot easier.

We are the first and only Custom Weebly Template designer that offers this feature.

At the moment this feature is only available on our newest template “Holeon” but we’re working hard to update all of our existing themes so this feature will be available for ALL templates soon enough.

  • Is the WIDG available for Optima? Also, not clear to me from the video where you access the WIDG to generate the custom HTML.

    • Hi Joshua

Sorry for the delay, time has been a bit tight recently.

Yep the WIDG is available with all of our current themes.

  • Is the WIDG available for Parallax yet?

    • Hi Mike

Yep, the WIDG is available for all three variations of Parallax.

Currently the WIDG is available for the following:

      Parallax Dark
      Parallax Multi
      Holeon Light

  • So what’s the difference between WIDG and any other code generator? There are so many of them and they all give me code I can paste on my Weebly website.

    • Hi Homer.

Sorry for the delay in replying.

The difference is with the WIDG you’re getting a code generator and an interface to fully customize your widgets… Plus the widgets you are customizing and creating with the WIDG are specifically the widgets that are packaged up with the template you purchase…

Without the WIDG you would need to copy the Default HTML Code, then manually edit it to add the content in that you wish to use… Also you would need to change the color scheme of the widgets in the css directly, where with the WIDG you set the color scheme for the widget individually. which also means each widget can use different colors if you wish.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask via the “ask us” tab on our homepage.
